American Highway Series

The American Highway is an art form in which we travel. This art form, developed with rules and acting as our guide and aid allows us to seek the road for a multitude of reasons. Visual images, excitement and adventure, efficiency of commerce and communication, testing our skills at young and old ages are all powerful motivations but the highway, in itself, is powerless to prevent frustration and tragedy. Beautiful new and vintage vehicles vie with animals and behemoth, colorful trucks for part of the road. I remain aware of all the emotional possibilities whenever I enter this amazing connecting network, thus the American Highway.

Medium: acrylic paint on paper.
