Lichen Images
This series of paintings depict the colorful lichens found in southwest Colorado.
Multiple layers of acrylic glazes are used to create the lichen textures in relief.

sky and mountain in the distance. Underfoot
the colors and textures of the mesa floor are
constantly changing from one step to the next
as well as season to season. These six paintings
depict a part of the infinite variety of the forest
floor we walk upon.

Landscape Intarsia
Wood-relief composition, also known as intarsia, has been practiced for centuries in nearly every culture. Pam is now
taking it in a new direction with her bright colors and stylized designs. Each of her pieces is a unique work designed and produced by Pam and
her husband, Dennis. Pam develops a detailed drawing, which is transferred to woods of varying thickness and cut on a scroll saw
by Dennis to create relief. These cut pieces are refined by Pam's carving and ultimately painted in bold and bright acrylics. An integral part
of each piece is the custom frame built by Dennis as the finishing touch to the work. Lastly, a polycrylic finish is applied to complete the process.
Contours
This series of intarsia landscapes are called Contours. For this series, Pam used a smaller format and
painted each of the four edges with a dark color that gives them a finished look.
Size: 10" x 10" x 3/4"
